About OpenTrace Africa

OpenTrace Africa is an African-led agricultural intelligence platform designed to transform how data powers food systems, investment, and policy decisions across the continent. At its core, OpenTrace is more than just a dashboard. It is a purpose-built data warehouse and analytics engine that brings together traditionally fragmented sources of information: public datasets, private sector intelligence, satellite imagery, field-level reports, and institutional records. We structure, standardize, and harmonize this data to deliver real-time, AI-powered insights through intuitive, prompt-driven tools. Our Mission To bridge Africa’s agricultural data gap not just for visibility, but for actionability. By unlocking this data, we help governments shape better policies, enable development banks and investors to deploy capital with precision, reduce risks for financial institutions and insurers, and equip supply chain actors with the intelligence needed for resilience and transparency. Our Vision We envision a future where farmers, cooperatives, banks, ministries, startups, and multinationals alike can query the same trusted dataset, using simple language, through a single interface and receive tailored, traceable, and location-specific insights.
