About Oregon Cybersecurity Center of Excellence

Established by Oregon House Bill 2049, OCCoE is a statewide collaboration between Portland State University, Oregon State University, and the University of Oregon to supplement the activities of the State Chief Information Security Officer and provide awareness, education, services, and training about cybersecurity and cybersecurity-related issues for public, private, and non-profit sectors in Oregon. Our Mission: -Enhance: Support the State in strengthening Oregon's cyber resilience against increasing digital threats. -Innovate: Leverage cutting-edge research and solutions to inform local projects and policies. -Collaborate: Build partnerships between academic, public, private, and non-profit sector communities. The Oregon Cybersecurity Center of Excellence advances the security and resilience of Oregon’s public, private, and nonprofit sectors by leading statewide coordination, education, workforce development, research, and operational support. The Center strengthens cyber readiness through collaboration, innovation, information sharing, and targeted services—prioritizing local governments, schools, tribes, and underserved public bodies—while advising state leadership and fostering a skilled cybersecurity workforce to protect Oregon’s communities and critical infrastructure.
