About Orquesta Juvenil Europea de Madrid
Unique for its heterogeneity, its diversity, its mix of origins and educations, which includes amateur and professional musicians of all ages, this musical project was born in 2005 as a chamber group of eight at the French Lycee of Madrid, led by its director, Adriana Tanus. Over the years, this initial chamber group became the European Youth Orchestra and Choir of Madrid (OJEM) in 2013 with the support of the European Commission, opening its doors to musicians and singers of all origins. Musicians from all international centers and Madrid schools, conservatories, professionals, amateurs, parents and children, make up a solid and truly European musical project that currently integrates more than 400 people among the five orchestras, four choirs and the Orchestral School of music.
