About Partnerships for Integrity (P4I)

Partnerships for Integrity was born from an evidence-based belief that we need to do democracy differently. When democracies fail, it is people who suffer. Conversely, only people can keep democracy alive, because accountability is strongest when it is collective. We founded Partnerships for Integrity (P4i) with a clear principle: collaboration over competition. We build lasting, equal partnerships from the grassroots to the highest levels of government, because democracy is both a governing system and a culture. We paint by hand, not by stencil, to produce real democratic change that can be measured and sustained. We don’t just observe elections; we have helped shape the laws that govern them and the operations that deliver them. We don’t just assess institutions; we have helped institutions draft by-laws, revise their policies, implement integrity systems, and integrate technology. We don’t just fund civil society; we have connected civil society with institutions and created the muscle memory to ensure this connection endures. We are six women co-founders, from six different countries, with a combined 125+ years of experience across every continent and every flavor of political system (okay, except Antarctica, but we’re open to it). And we are bringing with us a global cadre of democracy experts and defenders who have proven their expertise and ability to partner on the hardest challenges in the hardest places. No cookie cutters. No box checking. Just real assistance and partnership with sustained impact.
