About Peace of Art Intl

Peace of Art International is a Lebanon-based non-governmental organization founded by activist and peacebuilder Mahdi Yahya in 2016 in North Bekaa. Born from the conviction that art, education and community action can drive lasting peace, the organization empowers youth, refugees, and underserved communities through programs that combine creative expression, civic education, conflict resolution, and humanitarian relief. Co-founded with Vera El-Mawla and a team of educators and activists, Peace of Art International works across Lebanon’s most fragile settings, delivering workshops, relief programs, and training that foster social cohesion and resilience. From its Fine Arts Academy in North Bekaa, the first of its kind in the region, to youth leadership bootcamps, voter awareness campaigns, and mediation initiatives, the organization places people at the center of peacebuilding. It also supports vulnerable communities with emergency relief, including mobile kitchens, hygiene kits, and WASH infrastructure, while promoting psychosocial well-being through sports and trauma-informed programs. Using arts and media as tools for healing and advocacy, Peace of Art gives voice to marginalized stories and bridges divides in fractured societies. Through grassroots leadership, local partnerships, and international collaboration, the organization continues to inspire a generation to rebuild their futures, with creativity, dignity, and hope.
