About PEEC Family Centre (Polish and Eastern European Christian Family Centre Ltd)

PEEC Family Centre was established in 2006 to serve the most vulnerable migrants from the new immigration wave after Poland's accession to EU to helpm them settle in the UK and become valuable members of the wider community and to be a voice of Poles and Eastern Europeans on current issues and to protect their rights as EU citizens. These people typically do not speak English well, have problems with immigration and access to the welfare system, have low qualifications, lack of access to public funds, face mental health problems, homelessness, isolation and low income or at risk of poverty. We help them through the process of moving out of disadvantage toward a fullfilled life, belonging and integration into local areas and achieving their personal goal and amibitions in life and helping to find employment, rebuild their lives and provide pathway to independent living. Our aim is to provide support and assistance to individuals and families. We offer remote and face to face support in their native languages to remove language and technology barriers t accessing statutory services and better navigate the UK welfare system. We regularly run support groups for young families and children under 5 years old and for older people, organise social events. We have recently been able to make a positive difference to the lives of individuals and families seeking refuge from the war in Ukraine, with over 600 refugees receiving our support in collaboration with local partners such as Haringey Council and the British Red Cross. We are extremely grateful to our partners, whose generous contributions of funding and expertise have enabled us to make a significant and lasting difference to the lives of the thousands of people we serve over the years.
