About PEKUTHERM® Purging Compounds | UniTemp
UniTemp manufactures PEKUTHERM® plastic purging compounds used by plastics processors to clean injection molding machines and extrusion equipment. PEKUTHERM® is a mechanical purging compound designed for injection molding purge applications, extrusion purging, and plastic processing changeovers. During processing the material softens to a thermoelastic consistency that forms a self-adhering purge plug, physically removing degraded polymers, carbon buildup, and color contamination from screws and barrels. This allows faster material and color changeovers, reduced scrap, and cleaner equipment across a wide processing range of 175°F–752°F (79°C–400°C).
