About People of Solidarity

People of Solidarity (Dayanışma İnsanları) came together organically in Adıyaman on February 7, 2023, the second day after the earthquake. They coordinate humanitarian aid efforts at the Disaster Platform warehouse and collaborate with various civil society organizations, public institutions, and private companies. The growing People of Solidarity Community in post-earthquake humanitarian efforts officially became the People of Solidarity Association (Dayanışma İnsanları Derneği) on May 17, 2023, focusing on their own initiatives. People of Solidarity: - A grassroots organization where young people from different cities in Turkey come together, aspiring to become a national civil society organization. - Operates under youth leadership and prioritizes youth participation. - Symbolically based in Adıyaman due to the gathering after the earthquake, with building resilient communities against disasters as one of the main focus areas. Youth development and empowerment are other key areas of work. - The team consists of both young volunteers and experienced professionals who have been working in the field of civil society and human rights for more than 10 years. - Half of the team consists of local youth from Adıyaman, while the other half comprises young individuals from different cultures and geographies who came to support Adıyaman.
