The production started in 1893, and the technology has been constantly developing and changing since then. At present time, Perechin Timber and Chemical Plant is one of the biggest and most prominent producers of hardwood charcoal and charcoal briquettes, ethyl acetate and hard resins of premium quality. Thus, retorts provide vapor for the production of ethyl acetate and resins. It has a significant economic effect, because the plant does not use natural gas. The plant is characterized by a strategic location in Perechin, a town in the heart of the Carpathian Mountains, which also borders with Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. Perechin Timber and Chemical Plant is ISO 9001:2017 and BSCI certified and quality of the charcoal products is approved by DIN Plus. In July, 2019, the company was also certified by PEFC, which became a significant event for its further development and advancement.
