About PIANO ACADEMIE

Piano Academy, is a piano school, created by the concert pianist Mi-Young LEE. This project is the culmination of a personal reflection around her learning of the piano with Korean academic rigour, her continuous demand on musicality and respect for composers and her 15 years of experience teaching in France to young and old alike. Piano Académie trains dozens of children and adults of all ages in the Paris region. Mi-Young LEE's credo: There is no progress without pleasure and no pleasure without results. Whatever the age and level of the students, they all work directly on the pieces they like, focusing from the beginning on musicality and a sense of nuance. The piano technique is then at the service of the music and not the opposite as we see it too often today! This academy forbids scales and theoretical solfeggio. Piano Academie employs and trains today many teachers, all of whom share this innovative approach to the art of teaching the piano. Scores are published by the school, workshops and student concerts are organized on a regular basis, and projects for the opening of new schools in France are being implemented.
