About Pikler UK

Annual Conference - 26th September, Kingston upon Thames. Pikler.co.uk/events We are dedicated to advancing the core principles of the Pikler approach, which values the sensitive, respectful care of babies and young children. At the heart of our work is the belief in: • Nurturing close, trusting relationships between children and their caregivers. • Supporting self-chosen, uninterrupted play. • Encouraging natural motor development through free movement. • Fostering autonomy and competence through observation and attuned responses. We aim to raise public awareness of the Pikler approach through events, publications, digital platforms, and hands-on collaboration with early years settings. Our work supports both families and professionals by offering training, resources, and community-based opportunities that enhance their skills, understanding, and confidence in caring for young children. We are committed to expanding knowledge in early childhood development by conducting and sharing research, and by building networks with educational and professional bodies. Through the creation of regional hubs and strong partnerships with families and organizations, we aim to promote best practices that are rooted in respectful, relationship-based care and learning.
