We aim to provide a platform which allows anyone to discuss research with the people who carry it out and no prior knowledge of the subject is required. GOALS ● Break down the boundaries between the research community and the wider public. ● Push forward interest and trust in science by creating a space where audiences are engaged with scientists; where open and transparent conversations are encouraged, and where everyone is comfortable to learn, share thoughts, questions and ideas. ● Inspire speakers to consider good public engagement, accessible to all, as an important component of the scientific dialogue. Provide them with the opportunity to experiment it in an unusual format, and inspire them to view it as a creative outlet, and a worthwhile part of their work. Equip them with training to increase their confidence and develop their skills to share their story in an approachable manner with a new audience. ● Contribute to the personal and professional development of the volunteers, providing support and tools for effective project management and event organisation, while offering the opportunity to experiment creatively, and develop cross-disciplinary skills that will prove valuable in the workplace and beyond.
