About Plant and Soul California

Hello World! We are Plant and Soul California. Founded originally as California Native Garden Foundation in 2004 at 76 Race Street in San Jose, California, we are focused on providing a community hub for collective rejuvenation through urban farming and its related activities, including scientific exploration, botanically oriented education, and more. We fund these activities largely by using our 76 Race garden as a showcase for how a parking lot can be turned into a beautiful series of California landscapes that are low maintenance and highly efficient to gain clients who are looking to design, build, and maintain native+non-invasive gardens and farms in San Jose, Santa Clara, and beyond. Moving forward, we are looking to improve our design/build business, re-activate fantastic educational programming we have completed in the past (such as at the Elmwood Correctional Facility), run great food events with our "on-site" chef collaborator Matthew Close of Zola Kitchens and partners from local farms and urban gardens within the Coyote Valley Agroecology Coalition and the Urban Growers' Network, and of course, be a real hub of activity for the Shasta-Hanchett Neighborhood and San Jose more broadly. Sound interesting? Like this page to see what we are up to and how we would like to engage with local and global businesses and institutions.
