About Platform for International Education (PIE)

PIE is the NETWORK of Dutch professionals dealing with capacity development in the Global South, the VOICE in fora where the future of global development is discussed and the INFORMATION CHANNEL on programmes offering opportunities for collaboration with low- and middle income countries and countries in transition. PIE is a platform for Dutch institutions that partner with non-European organisations in the area of global knowledge development. Its primary focus is on post-secondary education, scientific research, knowledge innovation and knowledge valorisation. This cooperation supports the development of partner institutes and partner countries and enhances knowledge development at Dutch institutions. In this way, the platform contributes to a better understanding of global development issues in the Netherlands and a more identifiable contribution from the Netherlands to the global knowledge network. ✔PIE is the only platform within the Dutch knowledge sector that is dedicated to cooperation with non-European partners with the purpose of global knowledge development. ✔PIE emphasises the importance of mutual cooperation in a field that is often interpreted unilaterally. ✔PIE pursues activities that are linked to global development challenges, as described in the (post)Millennium Development Goals. ✔PIE promotes international cooperation activities that are of societal relevance in a globalized context. ✔PIE promotes and contributes to efforts that make cooperation with the Global South more efficient and more effective. In doing so, PIE maintains close contact with governments, politicians, intermediary organisations and institutions of higher education. ✉[email protected], ✆ +31-15-2151722 ❂ http://www.pieonline.nl/
