About PLUME - National Indigenous Women's Rights Alliance and Institute

PLUME – National Indigenous Women’s Rights Alliance and Institute is led by Indigenous women working across generations to strengthen our leadership, protect our rights, and advance self-determination. We bring together Indigenous women, youth, Tribal Nations, and partners to build collective power and shape the decisions that impact our communities—from our homelands to international spaces. Our work centers on maternal health, climate, and advocacy, grounded in our knowledge, responsibilities, and care for future generations. We advance the standards affirmed in CEDAW General Recommendation No. 39, and while the United States has not ratified CEDAW, we work to ensure Tribal Nations and cities recognize and uphold these rights. PLUME exists to ensure Indigenous women and youth are not only present, but leading.
