About Portraits of Hope

Portraits of Hope merges the production and exhibition of transformative public art installations with creative therapy for hospitalized children and civic education for students of all ages. For more than 25 years, Portraits of Hope (POH) has involved tens of thousands of children and adults in huge civic collaborations that have strikingly–and fleetingly–visually enhanced iconic symbols and settings from airplanes, buildings, bodies of water, and the New York taxi fleet to blimps, tugboats, race cars, and the Los Angeles coastal lifeguard towers, by working with organizations from NASA to NASCAR. Traditionally, Portraits of Hope partners with and integrates corporate, government, educational, medical, social service, and civic programs in its community-building projects nationwide.
