MISSION Pratit is dedicated to achieving health equity in underserved urban communities in Kolkata, India. All treatments were performed with zero cost to the patient. PROCESS To achieve our goal of health equity, we based our initiatives on the Sustainable Neighborhoods Model, which empowers neighborhoods and community members to be self-reliant in three primary areas: 1) Primary Health Care 2) Education aimed at Self Reliance 3) Social Enterprise At our core, we are a grassroots movement of local physicians, community health workers, civic leaders, and educators working collaboratively to provide comprehensive primary care health through mobile clinics in severely indigent slum communities.
