Precium Capital Partners is a South African investment firm focused on brownfield and near-term infrastructure. The firm provides hybrid equity, combining mezzanine financing with subordinated equity, to operators of cash-generative infrastructure assets in the energy, road, and rail sectors across South Africa and Europe. The strategy addresses a structural constraint: infrastructure operators with proven assets and contracted cash flows face binding equity requirements that limit how many projects they can pursue. Banks will fund the senior debt. But the layer between senior debt and sponsor equity, flexible junior capital from a counterparty with operator relationships and execution capacity, is where dedicated supply is thinnest. Precium was built to occupy that layer. The firm's capital lets operators deploy more of their pipeline from the same equity base, while retaining operational control and majority economics. Returns to Precium are capped; operators retain all upside beyond the agreed return. The founding team brings over R15 billion in combined transaction experience across infrastructure, energy, and complex cross-border M&A, including the acquisition of a major European tolling and motorway concession operator. The firm is 100% black-owned. Precium Capital Partners is in the process of finalising its regulatory arrangements under a Category II Financial Services Provider authorisation.
