About Prelude Design

Prelude Design | Where Walls Tell Stories At Prelude Design, we believe that walls are more than just surfaces—they are canvases that narrate stories, capture emotions, and shape the atmosphere of a space. Founded by Armands Dokis and Edgars Pukītis, Prelude Design is a boutique studio based in Riga, Latvia, within the historic Riga Film Studio. We are dedicated to crafting bespoke, handcrafted wall coverings that seamlessly blend art, craftsmanship, and innovation. Each piece we create is an artistic expression—designed, painted, and meticulously finished by hand, ensuring that no two designs are ever alike. With over 25 years of artistic exploration, our lead designer, Armands Dokis, has developed a distinctive design language that transcends trends. His expertise lies in mastering textures, materials, and techniques to create tailor-made pieces that complement and elevate unique spaces. Whether it’s a refined, sophisticated composition or a raw, organic aesthetic, our work is always infused with character, depth, and authenticity. Our passion lies in collaborating with visionaries—architects, interior designers, and collectors—who seek more than just decoration. We provide fully customizable designs, adjusting tones, gloss levels, and textures to align with project specifications, ensuring that each wall covering becomes an integral part of the narrative. While our heritage is rooted in craftsmanship, we are also looking ahead—exploring new materials, applications, and techniques to push the boundaries of what wall coverings can be.
