About Presidential Metering Initiative
PMI–SGDL is the implementation vehicle of the Presidential Metering Initiative, established to close Nigeria’s metering gap and restore public confidence in electricity billing. In its initial phase, the programme will deploy 2.5 million smart meters nationwide, an important step toward ensuring every Nigerian enjoys accurate, transparent, and accountable electricity access. Beyond metering infrastructure, PMI–SGDL is investing in people and performance. Through the training and certification of 4,000-meter installers and the continuous development of its workforce, the initiative is building the human capacity needed to sustain long-term operational excellence. Through these integrated efforts, PMI–SGDL is creating a modern, transparent metering ecosystem that delivers trust, efficiency, and value for every electricity consumer, laying the foundation for a sustainable and reliable energy future for Nigeria.
