About Prevent Child Abuse Utah

Every child deserves a safe, stable, and nurturing childhood. Prevent Child Abuse Utah (PCAU) exists to make that possible; not by responding to crises, but by preventing them. Founded in 1982, PCAU is Utah's only nonprofit exclusively dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect. For more than 40 years, we have worked upstream; strengthening families, building protective factors, and creating the conditions where children thrive. Our programs reach families where they are: * Home visiting services delivered by Registered Nurses and certified parent educators through four evidence-based models: NFP, PAT, STEP, and SafeCare * Child abuse prevention education for parents, professionals, and students statewide * Awareness campaigns, community events, and media outreach each April during National Child Abuse Prevention Month Last year, we served 610 families through home visiting and educated more than 6,000 adults and students in child abuse prevention. Prevention is possible. Follow us for updates on our work across Utah, resources for families and professionals, and the 2026 Joining Forces Conference. #PreventionIsPossible #ChildAbusePrevention #HomeVisiting #Utah
