About Primary Health Care and Health Management Centre, PriHEMAC

PriHEMAC utilizes a public-private partnership strategy with Faith-based organizations, Academia, and multilateral and bilateral and multilateral development partners to empower and build the capacity of identified appropriate target groups in communities for the provision of quality health services based on primary health care principles. One of our signature projects includes the Ibadan Maternal Morbidity Mortality Reduction Project (IMMREP) – a 5-year (2004-2008) project; and Improvement of Primary-Level Maternal Health Services in Ibadan (IPMat) – a 2-year (2009-2010) project sponsored by Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) of Finland. Ongoing Projects include 1. Promoting Elderly Friendliness through Empowered Stakeholder- a partnership project between PriHEMAC and Faith-based Organizatoions 2. Comprehensive Newborn Screening and follow-up program in southwestern Nigeria- a partnership project between PriHEMAC, Global Sickle Cell Alliance Incorporated, MSHAI, and Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital 3. Community Human Right and Gender Special Initiative- funded by Global Fund and implemented by PriHEMAC as a member of the Civil Society for malaria, Immunization, and Nutrition (ACOMIN).
