About Programs Employing People

Programs Employing People (PEP) is the largest provider of educational, vocational, and recreational services to people with intellectual disabilities in South Philadelphia. Started in 1969, PEP’s programs help individuals participate in the community and succeed at employment. PEP’s long history of successful services and programs is due to the quality of our services, and PEP’s focus on promoting the independence of its consumers. PEP's human service programs include: Supported Employment, Adult Day Programs, Adult Literacy and Education Programs, Community Adult Basic Education, Arts for Socialization Classes, Garden Programs, and Camp PEP. PEP also offers manufacturing and production services. Since 1974 PEP has been fulfilling a diversified range of high-quality business and manufacturing requirements. PEP Production Services can fulfill orders from several hundred pieces to as many as several million - all at a price that small and large companies can afford. PEP's capabilities include all forms of packing, bagging, folding, collating, assemblies, heat sealing, sub-assembly, shrink-wrapping, order fulfillment, direct mail and more. PEP Bowl offers a state-of-the-art bowling experience in an authentic vintage bowling alley dating back to the 1950s. You can feel good bowling at PEP Bowl knowing that you are supporting PEP’s mission of providing employment and services to people with intellectual disabilities.
