About Protect the West Coast

Protect The West Coast is a Not-For-Profit environmental organisation formed to fight unregulated and destructive mining on the South African Cape West Coast. Our vision is a thriving and abundant West Coast that benefits present and future generations. Lawful and unlawful mining activity covers an astounding portion of the area. Our goal is a future that replaces degraded, lifeless, and desolate mine dumps with cross-functional economic activity in unison with nature and her people. Join us in our fight against the destruction of this pristine, precious and culturally significant region by following us on social media, signing up for our newsletter and most importantly donating to the cause.
