About Providence University College and Theological Seminary

Providence is an interdenominational institution and is the largest, self-standing Christian educational institution in Manitoba, Canada. Situated on a beautiful 100 acres along the Rat River, the Providence campus encourages contemplation and reflection and facilitates strong, close-knit community life. We are located in southern Manitoba, 30 minutes south of Winnipeg and near numerous towns that offer opportunities for involvement in church and youth ministry. Providence has an extension site in Alberta that hosts the Counselling & Counselling Psychology programs. Providence is a Christian community that travels the journey of faith together. Our graduates are leaders in their churches and places of work because of the spiritual formation they’ve received at Providence. A Christ-centred approach informs every course we teach. Courses and programs are aimed at equipping students to be difference-makers in the world. Faculty are invested in students’ academic and spiritual growth. A close-knit community of students, faculty, and staff encourages one another, grows together, and learns together. The name Providence speaks of God's provision for the institution. We have more than 90 years of experience in equipping students for ministry jobs and marketable careers in Canada and around the world. Providence is a member of the Association of Biblical Higher Education and a member of the Canadian Council of Christian Charities. Providence offers 16 Undergraduate programs in four areas (Arts & Sciences, Biblical Studies & Practical Theology, the Modern Language Institute, and Professional Studies) and 11 Graduate programs.
