PT Sungai Tabuk Industri is developing the Sungai Tabuk Industrial Estate in Sukamara Regency, Central Kalimantan, covering 5,000 hectares. It becomes the largest industrial estate in Kalimantan. The estate will focus on processing mining products, specifically silica and alumina, in line with Indonesia’s mission to enhance domestic value through industrialization. A key project within the estate is a silica purification facility, producing Hyper HPQ silica — an essential raw material for silicon production, vital in semiconductor chip manufacturing. Additionally, an alumina industry will be established to strengthen the industrial ecosystem, ensuring integrated development of strategic natural resource-based industries. The Sungai Tabuk Industrial Estate has been officially designated as a National Strategic Project (PSN), making it one of only two industrial estates in Central Kalimantan to receive this prestigious status. This is stated in Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Regulation Number 12 of 2024 regarding the Sixth Amendment to the Regulation of the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Number 7 of 2021 (October 14, 2024). Strategically located near abundant raw material sources, including silica and bauxite (alumina) mines, the estate enjoys a prime position for efficient resource utilization.
