Founded in June 2020 by Rachel Rosenthal, Rachel Barri Designs has become synonymous with can’t-miss, one-of-a-kind, not-your-grandma’s needlepoint designs. In addition to the Toronto-based showroom, RBD has become one of the fasting growing needlepoint e-commerce stores online! Armed with a Fine Art degree from the Parsons University and a longtime passion for stitching, Rachel turned a quarantine canvas shortage into a cultural frenzy. Rachel pinpointed a void in the marketplace by not just creating coveted designs, but an entire suite of specialized accessories to self-finish. Inspired by her appreciation for art, fashion, design, travel, life living in NYC, summers by the lake and a nod to all things pop culture, Rachel Barri Designs continues to push the needle forward for stitchers. Our mission? To stitch needlepoint into the fabric of a new generation - fueled by design, driven by community, and rooted in the rituals that heal. We believe in the unparalleled power of needlepoint as modern form of mindfulness—art that heals, stitch by stitch. RBD is all about turning a slow craft into a fast-growing movement—because stitching feels good, and doing it together feels even better. Our goal is to build the premier marketplace and movement for modern stitchers (newbies, purists, and pros), guided by Rachel Barri’s unmatched eye for design, curation, expertise, education, and cultural relevance.
