About Rainham Foodbank

We have been supporting the community with emergency food since 2011. We don’t believe anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. In recent years we have been developing our 'more than food' projects - aimed at tackling the underlying needs of the emergency food parcels. Our 'Healthy Minds, Better Lives' project combines counselling with social and developmental activity to provide a fuller pathway to wellbeing. With the cost of living crises creating greater food poverty and increased mental health decline, our services are in high demand . Alongside the food parcels handed out to the 25,000 families we have supported since 2011, we now also offer: benefits and advocacy, debt support, counselling for adults and children, befriending services, English for refuges, Sewing sanctuary, skills building (I.e. CV writing, interview skills etc), breakfast club and fresh food Fridays. All of our services are free of charge and are making a massive impact for those we support. Our goal is to ensure that every person that walks through our door can accesses the help they need in order to restore dignity, revive hope and transform lives.
