About Raising Teenagers Uganda:

RTU is a Non- Governmental Organization that has existed since 2014 with the purpose of empowering teenage girls to stay in school until they complete their education. We target girls between the ages of 10-18 years. We aim at creating safe spaces for them to discuss issues affecting their well-being and we empower them with knowledge, assertiveness and communication skills. We advocate for the right of each child to have an education by encouraging regular school attendance of every girl. Menstrual Hygiene management and reproductive health education is given to everyone. Career guidance and counseling services are offered and we also address concerns related to violence against children in schools and at home. RTU is the Central Region Coordinator for GIRLS NOT BRIDES UGANDA- The Ugandan Partnership to End Child Marriage which comprises of 103 Member Organizations. 53 of these Organizations are located in the Central Region and we are honored to Coordinate them all. OUR VISION A world where all girls feel fully confident and participating in the social, economic and political development of their communities in future OUR MISSION To provide a platform for Teenagers’ engagement on a wide range of issues that impact on their lives and promote proper transition from childhood to adulthood.
