Jim Randel, a graduate of the Columbia University School of Law, has been both a businessman and an attorney. From the day he got out of law school, he was trying to buy small real estate properties. As his empire grew, he began to invest in business start-ups. Today, he has bought and sold more than 100 commercial real estate properties and has been involved with the founding of dozens of new businesses. Why is that important to his background as an attorney? Because his experiences and successes in the business world have made him a different breed of attorney. One who understands not just the legal side of any equation but also the nuts and bolts of the business side. As a result, he has acquired a unique reputation for getting tough deals over the finish line and for guiding people through challenging business problems. Randel is the author of ten books (two of which have won national book awards). He has been a guest lecturer at Harvard Business School and the NYU Real Estate Institute and a speaker at conventions and seminars around the U.S. (and in 2018 to groups of attorneys and corporate executives in China).
