ReCast fishing lures are the world’s first ever lures sourced from 100% recycled ocean plastics. Combining aesthetic, performance, and innovative design for sustainability, each lure ensures that every fisher — from the casual long-weekend warrior to the avid angler — can help contribute to our mission to reclaim our oceans, and cast aside traditional mass-produced lures made from virgin plastic. Our goal at ReCast is to remove as much plastic from the oceans as we can. Currently, there are over 5 trillion pieces of plastic our oceans, and every year, more than 8 million more tons of are added. That's the equivalent volume of 9 billion Walleyes! Plastic waste is responsible for the deaths of roughly 1 million marine animals every year, or nearly 2 animals every minute — from whales, dolphins, fish, and sea turtles, to pelicans and other seabirds and even plankton... no creature is untouched by the destructive impacts of unimaginable amounts of plastic polluting our oceans. On September 16th, the ReCast was successfully crowdfunded through Kickstarter!
