Reco Medical is a BS EN ISO13485-certified spinout company from Imperial College London, commercialising wireless intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring system. ICP monitoring is needed when patients suffer traumatic brain injuries, strokes, brain tumours and hydrocephalus. Compared with current (wired) ICP monitoring, Reco’s wireless ICP monitoring system significantly improves patient outcomes (reducing infection risk, shorter hospital stays, freedom from being tethered to bedside monitor) and reduces (halves) the hospital/ health sectors' cost. The global intracranial pressure monitoring devices market size was valued $1.64B in 2021 with CAAGR of 6.9%+ owing to demographics, population growth and increases in wealth. There is a great opportunity to disrupt the large market with an improved and superior product compared to the existing (competitor) offering.
