About REFORD Regional centre for forestry and rural development

Regional Centre for Forestry and Rural Development REFORD is a non-government, non-profit organization registered in Skopje, North Macedonia in 2010. REFORD is aiming to contribute to rural development by providing support to rural communities in their efforts to use natural resources on sustainable way, mainly by: * Sharing new technologies, experiences and working methods; * Increasing and strengthen the awareness, social and economic power of the rural population; * Capacity building to local organisations and institutions in the region; * Cooperation and networking with similar organisations, individuals, donors and institutions in order to achieve its mission and goals. REFORD’s mission is: Achieving a wider social interest in supporting rural development through sustainable natural resource management In addition to other goals, REFORD also aims to provide support in networking of the private forest owners in the Balkans, through its Platform for cooperation “Balkan Network” and it will do so as long as it has adequate resources and support from the national associations of private forests in the region. Currently there are 6 national organizations of forest owners from the Balkans participating in the “Balkan Network”: Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bulgaria.
