About Reframe Rethink Restore
Reframe Rethink Restore is a nonprofit focused on changing how people understand alcohol—seeing it as a spectrum, not just a problem when it becomes addiction. We move alcohol use beyond the "problem or not" myth toward a spectrum-based understanding of prevention, dependency and overall wellness. Alcohol remains one of the most normalized behavioral health risks in the United States despite well-researched connections to cancer, cardiovascular disease, anxiety, depression, sleep disruption, workplace productivity loss, and broader behavioral health challenges—even at moderate levels of consumption. Yet society has a binary view of alcohol: you either have a problem, or you don't. That is not how the brain and body work. Reframe Rethink Restore exists to reframe alcohol norms for a healthier society by challenging outdated cultural and social norms and bringing alcohol into the wellness and prevention conversation through modern science, psychology, and informed choice. We advance a simple but transformative principle: Alcohol use is a spectrum, not a stigma. We focus on the full Alcohol Use Spectrum©—a spectrum across both dependency and wellness, where psychological conditioning and health impacts begin much earlier than traditional cultural norms and long-held beliefs have reinforced and conditioned. This approach strengthens prevention, reduces stigma, and promotes better overall health and wellness. Using modern psychology and science, we provide educational programs and professional training to help communities and individuals better understand alcohol so they can make more informed and healthier choices.
