About Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Associations(REEEA)-Alliance

The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Associations-Alliance was established as the umbrella body of all Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Associations, created out of the need to promote the development of the RE/EE sector and to bridge the gap between individual organizations and serve as a means for collaboration between member organizations and the government. The creation of the REEEA-Alliance is initiated by the Nigerian Energy Support Programme (NESP), a technical assistance programme co-funded by the European Union and the German Government and implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft Für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Power Also partnering with REEEA-Alliance is the German Solar Industry Association, BSW-Solar based in Berlin. The direct purpose of this Partnership Project is to support the newly founded REEEA-Alliance to develop into a strong, independent, and sustainable organization able to represent the interests of its members and to offer demand driven services toward their membership. The overall purpose is to promote the development of the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency sector in Nigeria, aiming at enabling and fostering investments in the domestic market for the RE & EE and at improving the more widespread access to quality electricity in Nigeria.
