About Respect Educate Nurture and Empower Women (RENEW)

Founded by Her Majesty the Queen Mother Sangay Choden Wangchuck, in 2004, RENEW (Respect, Educate, Nurture and Empower Women) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment of women and children in Bhutan and promoting Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), with specific attention to the survivors of domestic violence (DV) and Sexual & Gender Based Violence (SGBV). Vision: A just, equitable, inclusive and happy society. We believe that every individual has the right to a safe, healthy, happy equitable, just and fulfilling life. Mission: 1. Empowering survivors of Domestic violence and Gender based violence by enabling them to be financially sustainable and emotionally independent individuals towards a socially productive member of the society. 2. Mobilizing communities to take ownership and responsibility in promoting a vibrant and happy community. 3. Strengthening and expanding partnership with stakeholders thereby ensuring an efficient collaboration towards effective delivery of quality services.
