About Rest Technologies Inc

REST Technologies, Inc. is a pioneer in diagnostic sleep solutions, bridging the gap between clinical excellence and accessible health technology. Founded in 2001 by Dr. Jerald H. Simmons, we have evolved from a regional diagnostic provider into a leader in Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) innovation. Our Technology is designed to screen for obstructive sleep apnea risk in pregnant women using overnight smartphone audio, addressing a critical gap in scalable maternal sleep health assessment. Our technology applies physiology-informed acoustic signal processing to derive respiratory pattern features associated with sleep-disordered breathing, while using automated data reduction and quality gating to support longitudinal monitoring across pregnancy with minimal burden. The approach supports early identification of elevated risk and treatment follow-up workflows by enabling repeatable at-home assessments and trend tracking, rather than relying solely on single-night laboratory polysomnography. Innovation in Maternal Health Backed by a recent NIH Phase 1 grant, REST Technologies is revolutionizing prenatal care. We have engineered a scalable system that screens for Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in pregnant women using smartphone-based, physiology-informed acoustic signal processing. This low-cost, non-invasive technology allows for longitudinal trend tracking, addressing a critical gap in maternal health without the burden of traditional polysomnography.
