The Rhode Island Indian Council, Inc. (RIIC) is a Regional Urban Indian Center established in 1975 and recognized as one of the largest Native American nonprofit organizations in the United States. Our mission is to promote the social, economic, and cultural well-being of Native American and Indigenous communities across the region. RIIC provides comprehensive workforce development services through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), in partnership with the Division of Indian and Native American Affairs. We serve Native communities throughout Regions 1 and 2, which includes Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Our programs support career advancement through apprenticeships, higher education pathways, certifications, and employment services—helping individuals build sustainable futures and improve their quality of life. In addition, our subsidiary, the New York Indian Council, focuses on delivering vital health and wellness services to Native communities in New York, ensuring access to culturally responsive care and support.
