About Richard E. Wildish Community Theater

The Richard E. Wildish Community Theater hosts musical, theatrical, and dance performances that are produced by resident and visiting companies. The theater is acclaimed for its excellent acoustics. With 275 seats in a sloped, and yet accessible, layout, there isn't a bad seat in the house. The Wildish Community Theater was the brainchild of the Springfield Renaissance Development Corporation in Springfield, Oregon. Built on the site of the old existing McKenzie Theater, the Wildish Community Theater has become a major arts attraction for downtown Springfield. With seed money donated by the Wildish family, the group spearheaded a six-year renovation project, which was completed in 2006.
