River City Counseling Group comprises River City Comprehensive Counseling Services, River City Integrative Counseling, and River City Residential Services. Since its founding in 2009, River City has expanded its services to include Mental Health Skill-Building, Intensive In-Home Counseling, Crisis Stabilization, Outpatient Services, group counseling, and a Veteran’s Employment Program, which is a federally funded grant through the Department of Labor. With a team of about 90 dedicated professionals, River City is committed to delivering high-quality, client-centered care. Each staff member undergoes rigorous training and certification processes, including thorough background checks, First Aid, CPR, and Crisis Wave training (a state-approved restraint process). All team members meet educational and state standards for their roles, and the program directors are master-level clinicians, many of whom are in supervision to become licensed. Licensed social workers and professional counselors also play key roles in providing client care, staff supervision, and leading counseling sessions. Licensed by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, River City holds a triennial license, which represents the highest state standard in mental health licensure.
