RNC Legal / Rajinder Narain & Co. LLP was the first legal firm to be established in New Delhi. It opened its doors soon after 1947, the year India gained independence, consequent upon which, the Constitution of India has been promulgated and Supreme Court of India established. The firm has been at the forefront of development of law and is the first legal firm to have been recognised by India’s highest court. It now specialises in corporate transactional work with emphasis on cross-border laws and aviation, particularly aviation finance and leasing in which area it is usually the first port of call by major banks and financiers, lessors, insurers and manufacturers who may have an interest in India. It works with several large US and English legal firms in that space and has the largest number of successfully closed transactions. The firm is recognised by several Clients for its quick and competent advice. With its rich experience, it is able to chart out a quick and trouble free roadmap. Since the establishment of India’s GIFT City, it has advised on majority of transactions, and has broken new ground and structured transactions, making them watertight and removing the risks associated with bankruptcy, foreign exchange, taxation and other similar regulations. One of the Partners served as Chair of the Aviation Committee of the International Bar Association, and the only advisor from India to the Legal Advisory Panel of Aviation Working Group (AWG). The firm is also consulted from time to time by the Government of India on various matters.
