About Rooted in Nature LLC

My name is Johnna Lyman and I recently retired from the field of special education after 34+ years, including 30 years as an early intervention specialist working with children birth – 8 years and their families. As an early intervention specialist, I have played the role of supporting general education teachers/classroom staff, community preschools and daycares staff, Head Start staff, and families in the home. I have worked closely with related service providers, such as occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists and members of the medical field and other community agencies who may be assisting a family. I'm the author and illustrator of the HONEY Bee book series. HONEY is a bee and the main character of the stories. HONEY is a tribute to my late mother, whose nickname was HONEY. All of my books are hand illustrated and written in her own handwriting. The look is intentionally simplistic. They are not produced in a digital manner and are naturally imperfect in appearance. The Honey Bee Books are designed to promote early literacy development and are a joyful tribute to her mother, Honey, who loved children and loved to read. I'm available for classroom visits: (preschool -K) THE BUZZ OF IMAGINATION: HONEY BOOKS COME ALIVE Experience an expertly crafted interactive sessions will inspire imagination, creativity, promote literacy, and promote an appreciation for nature and animals.
