About Route Wise Consulting

Route Wise Consulting Ltd is a UK-based transport consultancy specialising in the design, review, and improvement of passenger transport systems within the public and regulated sectors. We support Local Authorities, Home to School Transport teams, and transport providers to deliver smarter, safer, and more efficient services, with particular expertise in SEND and specialist passenger transport. Our work is grounded in a deep understanding of the pressures facing public-sector transport today: rising demand, increasingly complex SEND needs, budget constraints, safeguarding expectations, and the operational realities of service delivery. We help organisations strengthen decision-making, improve service quality, and ensure compliance with statutory duties. Route Wise Consulting combines hands-on operational experience with analytical rigour. We are often engaged where services have evolved faster than their governance, where responsibilities between policy, budget, and operations are unclear, or where cost and performance pressures require better visibility and control. Our approach is collaborative, proportionate, and focused on real-world impact. Whether supporting a full service review, advising on complex SEND transport arrangements, strengthening safeguarding and compliance frameworks, or helping teams build internal capability, we provide practical, sustainable solutions aligned with both local priorities and national guidance. Route Wise Consulting was founded by senior transport professionals with experience spanning planning, commissioning, finance, compliance, and service transformation. Our purpose is to help organisations deliver transport services that are safe, reliable, cost-effective, and centred on the people who rely on them.
