About Rural Economy Research Group

The Rural Economy Research Group (RERG), founded in 2011 by the late Lord Wade of Chorlton with top UK academics, aims to reignite discussions on rural economic issues. Chaired by Baroness McIntosh of Pickering, RERG is a platform where Parliamentarians, academics, and businesses tackle rural economy challenges and provide policy solutions. Our mission is to advocate for the rural economy and environment across the UK, offering a forum for informed debate and evidence-based policymaking. Join us in shaping the future of the countryside.
