About Rural Women Foundation, India
Rural Women Foundation, India ( RWF ), is a non- governmental, non-political and non-profit making voluntary organization for the promotion of the welfare of the weaker sections of the society, particularly women and children in the backward rural communities of Manipur, a small state in North-East India.RWF was established as an NGO in 2010 and registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1989 (Manipur Act 1 of 1990) bearing Registration No. 492 of 2017. Improving the overall economic conditions of the poor rural women and children and empowering them to play their role in the society is RWF’s mission. Being poor and driven by the vicious cycle of poverty, our poor rural women cannot play their role actively in poverty alleviation and, hence, in economic development, as though they account for not less than 50% of the population of the country. Our mission is thus championing the problems and issues of the underprivileged rural women and children by providing them the opportunities relating to their livelihood.
