About Sacred Ground Center for Spirituality: St. Paul, MN

Sacred Ground Center for Spirituality is a community of compassionate listeners that has been training and supporting spiritual directors since 1996. Sacred Ground is also a center for spiritual enrichment, professional development, and peer supervision for our community and for spiritual seekers in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and beyond. Ignatian Spirituality is the heartbeat of our Spiritual Direction Formation and Training Program. Ignatian Spirituality is a rich and time-tested way of being in the world. It encompasses the whole person, and it is broad enough to feel like home for people from a wide variety of religious traditions. Being rooted in the Ignatian Tradition means, in part, that: - We are Grounded in the experience of God's transformational love. - We practice finding God in all things. - We practice Discernment - a key gift from Ignatius of Loyola. We are invited to pay attention to what leads us to deeper love and life and to notice what blocks us from giving and receiving life and love. Discernment becomes a way of being in the world. - We become contemplatives in actions as we discover how we are each invited to show up with our particular gifts and engage in God's work in the world.
