About SaGG Foundation (Sponsor a Gambian Girl)

SaGG Foundation (Sponsor a Gambian Girl) is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to empowering girls in The Gambia through education, mentorship, and community support. Since 2018, we’ve connected 200 girls with sponsors around the world, providing school fees, uniforms, books, and the encouragement they need to thrive. Our work goes beyond the classroom, and we advocate for girls’ rights, challenge barriers to education, and create opportunities for young women to become leaders in their communities. Through sponsorships, mentorship programmes, and local partnerships, we’re breaking the cycle of poverty and building a brighter future for the next generation. Our criterion for sponsorship is to support girls who are: orphans; from communities that do not encourage girls’ education; from families with no girls in school; brilliant and talented in school but lack the financial support to complete their education. Founded by two women united by a shared vision for change, SaGG Foundation is driven by the belief that when you educate a girl, you uplift an entire community.
