About Salemi School of Ceramics SRL

Salemi Ceramics is a creative studio in Western Sicily dedicated to exploring contemporary ceramics through immersive one- and two-week wheel-throwing courses, as well as special programs such as wood firing, kiln building, and artist residencies. Our school brings together artists, makers, and curious beginners from around the world to experience the rhythm of Sicilian life while deepening their connection with clay. Surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards, and the historic charm of Salemi, participants learn traditional techniques alongside modern approaches to wheel throwing, hand building, and glaze experimentation. We believe in slowing down, creating with intention, and finding inspiration in community, culture, and craftsmanship. Every course is hands-on, guided by talented ceramic artists who share not just their skills but their passion for the process. Salemi Ceramics is part of Leatherback Travel, a family of creative travel experiences that celebrate learning, connection, and the joy of discovery.
