About Sandton Eye Clinic

Sandton Eye Clinic is a specialist ophthalmology centre in Sandton, Johannesburg, focused on advanced vision correction, refractive surgery, cataract surgery and corneal surgery. We work with patients who are exploring ways to improve their vision and reduce their dependence on glasses or contact lenses. Our practice combines advanced diagnostic technology with highly precise surgical planning to help patients achieve the best possible visual outcomes. Our ophthalmologists, Dr Lourens Coetzee, Dr Precious Phatudi and Dr Melody Sun are fellows of the World College of Refractive Surgery, reflecting advanced international training in modern refractive surgery techniques and a commitment to evidence-based ophthalmology. Many members of our own team, including doctors and staff, as well as their families, have chosen vision correction procedures themselves. This reflects the confidence we have in the care and technologies we provide. Services at Sandton Eye Clinic include: • Laser vision correction (LASIK and PRK) • Presbyopia treatment options • Implantable contact lenses (ICL/IPCL/EVO) • Premium cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange • Keratoconus management and corneal transplants Every patient journey begins with a comprehensive ocular and lifestyle assessment and personalised consultation. We believe informed patients make the best decisions about their eye health, which is why we prioritise education and clear discussions about benefits, limitations and available treatment options.
