About Scientific Center of Zoology and Hydroecology

The Scientific Center of Zoology & Hydroecology (SCZHE) is a national research institution focused on biodiversity and ecosystem science. Our work spans zoology, hydroecology, conservation biology, and One Health-relevant environmental research, combining long-term monitoring with modern molecular and spatial methods. We produce scientific evidence and practical outputs, datasets, risk and distribution maps, expert assessments, and policy-relevant recommendations, to strengthen nature protection and sustainable management of Armenia’s ecosystems. SCZHE actively collaborates with universities, protected areas, government agencies, and international research networks, while mentoring students and early-career researchers.
